Pre-finished hardwood arrives with a tough, multi-layer factory finish. Nail-down and floating floors can usually be walked on the same day. Glue-down floors follow the adhesive manufacturer's cure time before furniture returns.​

• Solid pre-finished hardwood: classic solid planks with a factory-cured aluminum oxide topcoat

• Engineered hardwood: more dimensionally stable through humidity swings when kept within the manufacturer's recommended range, good for wide planks and concrete slabs

• Board replacement & repair: fix scratched, gouged or water-damaged planks without refinishing the whole room

• Subfloor prep & leveling: we check joists, address squeaks and flatten hollow spots for a solid feel underfoot

What You Get

• Ready sooner. The finish is cured at the factory, so there is no finish to dry on site.

• A harder finish. Factory finishes often use multiple UV-cured coats with aluminum oxide, and coat counts vary by manufacturer. They are generally more resistant to scratches, pet claws and heavy traffic than finishes applied on site.

• Dust-controlled installation. Cutting planks still makes dust, so we run HEPA dust extraction on our saws.

• Careful layout. We check the subfloor for flatness, lay the moisture barrier or underlayment the flooring manufacturer specifies, and stagger end joints for strength and a balanced look.

Q: What's the main advantage of pre-finished hardwood over site-finished?

A: Speed and convenience. The planks are stained and sealed at the factory, so installation is faster, with no finish fumes in your home, and walk-on time follows the manufacturer's guidance. Factory UV-cured finishes are generally harder and more scratch-resistant than finishes applied on site.​

Q: Can pre-finished engineered hardwood be refinished later?

A: It depends on the product. Most good-quality engineered hardwood can be sanded and refinished 1 to 3 times, if the manufacturer says the real-wood wear layer is thick enough. Solid hardwood can be refinished many times over its life.

Q: Do you offer jobsite assessments and written quotes for pre-finished hardwood?

A: Yes. Every project begins with a complimentary private jobsite assessment, followed by a detailed written quote that itemizes old floor removal, subfloor leveling, material prep and labor.

Q: Why are there small grooves between pre-finished boards?

A: Pre-finished planks have a slight micro-bevel on their edges. It helps disguise slight height differences between boards, so the edges sit more evenly underfoot. It also gives each plank a defined look that many homeowners like.
